When Creative Programming Feels Overwhelming
Coordinators are often tasked with finding programs that work for a wide range of residents while fitting within busy schedules and available resources.
Residents may feel unsure about participating, worry they lack artistic ability, or hesitate to try something unfamiliar. This can make even well-intentioned programs difficult to implement.
Creativity does not have to be complicated or intimidating. With the right support, art can be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Our Approach to Creative Aging
At ArtGrow. Creative, we believe art should feel welcoming, not intimidating. Creativity is not about talent or perfection. It is about participation, expression, and connection.
Our programs are designed to meet residents where they are. Whether someone paints independently, needs extra support, or prefers a hand over hand approach, every form of participation is valued.
The goal is not a perfect result. The goal is engagement, confidence, and a positive creative experience in the moment.
Your Creative Partner
I’m Susan, the founder of ArtGrow. Creative.
During seniors workshops, I often hear residents say, “I’ve always wanted to paint.” That moment matters to me, because it speaks to what these sessions really offer: the chance to try something new in a supportive, pressure-free environment.
I facilitate each workshop with flexibility and care, adapting to a wide range of abilities and comfort levels. Whether a resident paints independently, needs hands-over-hand support, everyone participates in a way that feels right for them.
These sessions are about more than art. They create connection, confidence, and shared moments that residents look forward to.

How it Works:
-
Understand Your Needs: We start by talking with your team about your residents, space, and goals.
-
Customize the Session: We tailor workshops to your group size, ability range, and interests so everyone can participate comfortably.
-
Lead and Support: We tailor workshops to your group size, ability range, and interests so everyone can participate comfortably.
Art for Any Ability:
Our sessions are designed to meet residents where they are, not where they “should” be.
We start with a simple, inclusive workshop to see the range of participation firsthand. From there we adapt each session to suit your community’s pace and ability levels. This includes:
• Adjusting the physical setup (easels or flat surfaces)
• Positioning brushes in hand for support
• Offering hand-over-hand assistance when needed
• Exploring deeper technique when residents are ready
What Residents and Communities Experience
When residents participate in our programs, they often:
• Feel more confident trying something new
• Connect with fellow residents
• Express creativity without pressure
• Look forward to the next session
• Have artwork they feel proud of
Staff often share that the workshops:
• Run smoothly with minimal lift from their team
• Provide meaningful engagement
• Create something families and residents love to share
Art Workshop Portfolio
These past projects demonstrate how adaptable and inclusive our workshops are. From simple seasonal pieces to more detailed paintings, each project is thoughtfully designed to meet residents where they are.
The result is meaningful engagement, visible accomplishment, and artwork families love to see displayed.

Short Term Projects
Alongside our individual workshops, we offer short-term projects that run over multiple weeks.
Examples include custom bingo boards, resident-created life advice books, and group murals such as butterfly projects for communities participating in Butterfly Home certification programs.
Each project is adapted to the pace, interests, and abilities of your residents.
